Grace Wilson Buzaljko was born on November 4, 1922 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received her B.A. in English and History from St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1944. She was an editor at several commercial presses and the University of California Press from the mid-1940s to the early 1970s. From 1973 to 1988 she served as the editor for the U.C. Berkeley Department of Anthropology. In addition to scholarly editing, she wrote journal articles on anthropologists Alfred L. Kroeber and Isabel T. Kelly and an uncompleted history of the Anthropology Department.
